Summers Avenue Family Medical practice is committed to delivering high-quality and comprehensive patient care that values careful listening and a personalised approach. This philosophy to delivering detailed consultation is not adequately covered by the Medicare rebate alone.
Our mixed billing structure continues to make bulk billing available for children aged 15 years and under. To promote preventative health, an annual health assessment for patients 75 years old or over and those of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island descent are also fully bulk billed and can be organised with reception. Meanwhile, a discount fee is available for those who hold a pensioner or health care card.
Please note that practice fees below are only indicative, as our doctors ultimately determine fees based on duration of visit, complexity and other factors.

On Saturdays, children 15 years old or under are charged the discount fee.

A $10 surcharge applies to all other fee items on Saturdays.
While phone and video telehealth are also available, we strongly recommend face to face attendance to facilitate better quality consultation with higher accuracy of assessment. Telehealth consultation incurs the same fee as face to face attendance.
Please book telehealth appointments if you have a confirmed Covid-19 infection, or are symptomatic after having close contact with a Covid-19 infected individual. If you have respiratory symptoms, please ensure a negative rapid antigen test within 24 hours of attending the surgery and advise our reception of your negative test result.
At Summers Avenue Family Medical Practice, the standard length for our appointments are 15 minutes. Appointments longer than 20 minutes and shorter than 40 minutes are considered long appointments.
For mental health issues, cervical screening, anticipated skin procedures, please always book a long appointment. The first appointment for new patients is also booked as a long appointment.
In general, one detailed issue will require a standard appointment, while two detailed issues will require a long appointment. If you are not sure about how long you need for an appointment, please feel free to ask advice from our friendly staff.
Skin Cancer Expert Fees
As part of the Summers Skin Cancer Clinic, our in-house expert Dr William Nguyen provides extensive knowledge and competency in advanced surgical procedures including grafts and flaps. His fees for skin check consultations are as listed.

Appointment types such as a mental health care plan will have different charges and rebate amounts. While there are too many categories to list in detail, we fully believe in transparency and the patient's right to know anticipated fees before the appointment. Please feel free to ask our friendly staff any questions you may have about appointment fees.
Keep in mind that staff can only advise on anticipated fees. The actual service rendered during the consultation may differ due to various factors, which may lead to a different fee being billed.
