As Covid strains continue to evolve and spread, it is more important than ever to ensure adequate protection for you and your family members. The new XBB vaccine covers an updated common subvariant that will help your immune system to better defend against evolving forms of Covid.
As per NSW Health recommendations:
For adults 75 years or older: Receive a booster if more than 6 months have passed since your last dose or confirmed Covid-19 infection
For adults 65 to 74 years old: Consider a booster if 12 months have passed since your last dose or confirmed Covid-19 infection. Eligible for a dose every 6 months.
For adults 18 to 64 years old: Eligible for a booster every 12 months. if you are severely immunocompromised or at higher risk of severe disease, and if 6 months have passed since your last dose or confirmed covid-19 infection
For children 5 to 17 years old: Booster doses may be considered only for children at risk of serious illness.
For children under 5 years old: Booster doses are not recommended
Local Availability
We are anticipating stock of the new XBB vaccines in mid-December, allowing us to deliver vaccines from the 18th December 2023. Our experienced practice nurses will be running clinics to deliver the new Covid vaccine in an efficient manner. Please call our reception to arrange a booking.
